Research - Annie Leibovitz

I decided to have a look at Annie Leibovitz as she is a very well known portrait photographer. She started her career as staff photographer for Rolling Stone magazine and later became chief photographer. She is best known for her portraits of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, the Vanity Fair cover of Demi Moore and The Rolling Stones.
I really like the style of her work as the subjects seem relaxed, it isn't too forced and they aren't being put into ridiculous poses. My favourite of the pictures below is that of Eileen Collins, who was the first female pilot and first female commander of a space shuttle mission. I like that it seems that it could be at the space station and she is ready to go into space at any moment. Her stance also looks like how she might pose if she was not wearing her space suit.
